When people ask how I got into marketing, I usually say; I didn't find it, it found me, and it struck because of my love for creativity and psychology. My past hasn't been traditional, but it's been full of hands-on experience, real impact, and lots of learning. Here's a look at how I rated, what I've done, and where I'm heading next.
From Passion Projects to Purpose
It all began at Coventry University, where I ran the Crafting Society's Instagram profile. I designed posts, engaged with students, and helped coordinate meetups and our presence at the society's fair. That's where I realised how much I loved content creation and how natural it felt to shape a brand's tone and message.
After graduating, I took that energy into the real world by supporting a friend's company, Clifton Rain. I launched and managed their Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram pages, creating regular content and developing their brand voice from scratch. That role taught me how to manage social channels with consistency, creativity, and intention.
Deep Dive: Multi-Brand Marketing in Action
At the beginning of 2025, I joined a group company as a Multi-Channel Marketing Apprentice, supporting several B2B brands:
Camozzi Automation
Bonomi UK
Total Pressure Solutions Limited (TPS)
ATAM UK
This role gave me practical experience across a wide range of marketing tasks:
Content Creation & Blog Writing:
I wrote and published a range of B2B content, including:
PR Writing & Publication:
One of the highlights of my apprenticeship was writing PR content that got picked up by industry publications, such as this piece I produced for CP Magazine: Custom Control Panel Upgrade for Processing Facility.
This experience gave me insight into writing for media audiences and working to brand tone while promoting technical achievements.
Website Management:
I uploaded and optimised product listings and pages for the Total Pressure Solutions website, developing an eye structure, SEO, and clear product communication.
Social Media Management:
I created posts for LinkedIn across:
This taught me how to adapt voice and tone depending on the brand while maintaining consistency and engagement.
Case Studies & Technical Copy:
I contributed to detailed technical content like this: Pneumatic Control Panel Replacement Case Study.
CRM, Internal & External Communications:
I used Mailchimp to create internal emails and external monthly newsletters, including customer-facing campaigns like our February to March 2025 Customer Survey. I focused on clear layout design, consistent branding, and engaging copy to ensure informative and on-brand messaging. Additionally, I supported CRM segmentation and basic analytics, helping the team better understand audience engagement and improve targeting.
Event Support
I helped prepare content and coordinate for industry exhibitions, gaining behind-the-scenes insight into B2B event marketing and logistics.
Industry Certifications
Alongside hands-on experience. I completed several industry-recognised courses to strengthen my knowledge:
Google Analytics Certification – Skillshop
Social Media Marketing – HubSpot Academy
Content Marketing – HubSpot Academy
Building a Customer Persona – Semrush
Market Research – Semrush
Keyword Optimisation (Ubersuggest) – Coursera
These enhanced my technical and strategic skills and allowed me to better understand audience behaviour, SEO, and inbound marketing.
What's Next?
Although my apprenticeship ended early due to company capacity, it was a transformative experience. I gained confidence, learned to wear multiple marketing hats, and discovered how much I thrive in creative, fast-paced environments.
I'm now looking to continue my journey in multi-channel marketing—ideally in an apprenticeship or entry-level role where I can build on this experience while contributing to a passionate team.
